Narrator: "One winter's night, when the cold wind blew, the animals found it hard to sleep."

Granny Smith: "What we need..."

Narrator: "Suggested Granny Smith,"

Granny Smith: "Is to listen to a story."

Princess Luna: "Yes."

Narrator: "Said Princess Luna."

Princess Luna: "A mysterious story."

Jiminy Cricket: "But,"

Narrator: "Added Jiminy,"

Jiminy Cricket: "It must have a happy ending."

Princess Celestia: "Principal Celestia told me a story,"

Narrator: "Said Princess Celestia, so everyone listened."

Princess Celestia: "Once upon a time,"

Narrator: "Began Princess Celestia."

Princess Celestia: "There were three little animals, who lived in their own little house on their own little town. Their names were Spike, Fluttershy and Rarity. Spike was the oldest, and was named after his grace, Duke Spike. He was proud of this, and liked to keep the younger ponies in order.

Whenever they did anything that Spike thought wrong, he would say,"

Spike: "That would never suit his grace."

Princess Celestia: "Other ponies came and went, but Spike outlasted them all.

Fluttershy and Rarity used to call him 'Grandragon.' They were fond of him, but they got very tired of hearing all about 'his grace.'

Sometimes they would tease him and chant,"

Fluttershy and Rarity: "Ponies come and ponies go, Grandragon goes on forever."

Spike: "You impertinent scallywags!"

Princess Celestia: "Spike would say."

Spike: "Whatever are you ponies coming to?"

Fluttershy and Rarity: "Never mind, Grandragon. We're only young once."

Spike: "Well, you better mind. Unless you want to end up like Gilda."

Fluttershy and Rarity: "Oh, Grandragon? What ever happened?"

Spike: "Gilda,"

Princess Celestia: "Said Spike,"

Spike: "Was a show-off!

She rode roughly and often lost her loads.

I warned her to be careful, but she took no notice."

Gilda: "Listen, Spikey,"

Spike: "She said,"

Gilda: "Who worries about a few spills?"

Spike: "'We do here,' I said, but Gilda just laughed."

Gilda: "He he he he he!"

Spike: "Until vone day, the manager said he was going to make her useful at last. Gilda stopped laughing then."

Fluttershy and Rarity: "Well, why? What did he do?"

Spike: "He turned her into a generator. She's still out there behind our house. She'll never move again."

Princess Celestia: "After that, Fluttershy and Rarity became really useful ponies, and all three were happy together for many years.

Then, hard times came. The mines in the hills closed, and the town was closed, too. People came to buy the animals."

Passengers: "We'll take Fluttershy and Rarity."

Princess Celestia: "No one wanted Spike. They thought him 'Too old'."

Fluttershy: "Cheer up, Grandragon."

Princess Celestia: "Called Fluttershy."

Fluttershy: "We'll find you a nice town, and then you can come and keep us in order."

Princess Celestia: "They tried to be brave and cheerful, but no one really thought their dreams would come true.

Spike's driver and fireman polished and greased his head one last time. They sheeted him snugly, and said good-bye. Then they had to go away and find work. Spike was alone.

Spike: "Oh, well."

Princess Celestia: "He sighed."

Spike: "I'll go to sleep. It'll help to pass the time."

Princess Celestia: Winter torrents washed soil from the hills. Trees and bushes grew all around. You wouldn't have known a house was there, let alone a dragon asleep inside."

Princess Luna: "That's not a happy ending!"

Narrator: "Cried Princess Luna."

Princess Celestia: "Ah,"

Narrator: "Murmured Princess Celestia."

Princess Celestia: "There will be one, but that will have to wait until next time.
